                        Petition for Compassionate Release

Dear Mr. Hurwitz:

Ramiro Muñiz is currently detained at FMC Lexington Federal Medical Center because of serious medical conditions. Medical records reflect that he has experienced life-threatening and chronic physical and mental conditions that respiration pneumonia, COPD, atrial fibrillation, and arteriosclerosis. He is dependent on oxygen, and he ambulates by wheelchair with assistance. He suffers from delusions, memory loss, and confusion about location, time, and events

We seek the assistance of all BOP Central Office personnel who are involved in the Compassionate Release Program, asking that the case of Ramiro Muniz be granted. Muniz is 75 years of age. His first petition was submitted by FCC Beaumont-Medium in 2013, where he was hospitalized because of pneumonia. He was later transferred to FMC Lexington Federal Medical Center, and in July of 2018 he submitted a new petition. His condition remains serious, and he suffers from delusions that continue to increase.

Muñiz needs the care of family members who maintain faith in God and love for him. We ask that you grant his Petition for Compassionate Release as soon as possible, enabling him to be released to their care. They will assume full responsibility for his medical and financial needs, and provide a home that has been approved as his place of residence.

Thank you for your assistance in approving the Petition for Compassionate Release for Ramiro Muñiz.
